LA Tiki Fest's first ever deep south exploration of some of the finest breweries and distilleries in the state, and soon to be the most popular event. The La Tiki Fest committee and Rum Society of Louisiana have made this excursion many times(you know we had to test run it to make sure) to make sure it was the right fit for this event.
We feel it is only right to include it in the weekend events to make sure that you have the best LA Tiki Fest has to offer so the fun doesn’t have to end so soon!
On Sunday (at the crack of noon) we will roll out of Baton Rouge for a day of fun. We’re eaving from the Hayride Scandal parking lot on College Drive. Our first stop is less than an hour away. (There is a rumor that a committee member will have us a cocktail for the road)
First Stop -Bayou Teche Brewery, home of “Le Tiki”, one of the most unique tiki bars you’ll ever visit. This hidden gem is filled with beautiful handmade custom Tiki lamps, Tiki decor, a tap room, pinball and arcade games. We will be greeted by Karlos, owner and brainchild of this tiki destination. Located in the famous LA beer brewery (home of LA 31) in Arnaudville . We will hang out here for about an hour and a half and be treated to four half-sized cocktails curated to go with the four course Cajun/Tiki lunch consisting of Musubi, Loco Moco, Wood Fired Pizza Slice, and Dessert. This is an amazing place that has us all going back again and again.
But wait there’s more as we jump back on the road for a short ride over to Lafayette, La where we will visit Wildcat Brothers distillery. Come on in to this cozy place and experience their rum tasting along with a tour of their distillery. This cozy cabin distillery sources its cane locally and makes their rums like no other. Some of their best rum is made from start to finish in just 90days and will surely blow you away. Sit, relax and watch for the beautiful peacocks stroll around on this serene property as our host shares their secrets of rum making with a delicious flight with us.
Sadly we will head home after this for an hour ride back to Baton Rouge and the parking lot where we departed from. We will say our goodbyes until next time!
